July 2021 - Girard Engineering has joined Salas O'Brien, creating a combined firm of 51 offices, more than 1,300 team members, and 330 registered professionals. Our team's capabilities and portfolio complement Salas O'Brien's existing work in the Mid-Atlantic, particularly with large commercial clients and the federal government. December 2018 - Girard Engineering would like to announce that Andrew Marusich, PE, LEED AP has been named the President of Girard Engineering, PC. Andrew joined Girard Engineering in 1989. Before assuming the role of President, Andrew spent over 13 years directing the Electrical department.  Earning a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the Penn State in 1987, he has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 2004 .

November 2018 - Girard Engineering would like to announce the retirement of Doug Menchhofer, PE. Doug joined Girard Engineering in 1983. He has been an influential leader during his tenure, while managing numerous notable projects during the course of his career. Doug served as company President for 7 years and over 7 years as the head of the mechanical and plumbing departments.  Earning a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee in 1977, he has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 1989. - Girard Engineering thanks Doug for his 35 years of dedicated service and wishes him an enjoyable and relaxing retirement! CONGRATULATIONS DOUG!!!.

Fishing School Makeover – January 2010
Girard Engineering provided pro bono services for the reconstruction of the Fishing School in northeast Washington, D.C. The ambitious project was completed as part of an episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” which aired on the ABC network in February 2010.

Girard Awarded U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters – September 2009
Girard Engineering has been selected to provide building engineering services for the new U.S. Coast Guard headquarters on the grounds of St. Elizabeths hospital.

Girard Projects Earn Regional Awards – January 2008
The new underground bus depot at Washington National Cathedral and a new office building at 425 3rd Street have won major regional awards. One & Two Potomac Yard won a NAIOP Award of Excellence.

The renovation of Richmond CenterStage, a circa-1928 theater in downtown Richmond, Virginia, has received two major awards recognizing excellence in design and construction.
