Girard in the Community
Girard Engineering is committed to community service and outreach in our metropolitan area. We regularly support charitable and community-based organizations through hands-on volunteering and participation, donations, educational and training assistance, and pro bono services.
Each year, our support is guided by Girard’s Philanthropy Committee, which meets regularly to review charitable opportunities and endeavors. In addition to providing assistance to organizations that help those in need in the greater Washington area, we are active in causes such as environmental protection and stewardship, education, and the advancement of the design and construction professions.
Our recent activities have been directed toward causes such as:
- Helping the homeless (Habitat for Humanity, FACETS, soup kitchens)
- Preventing domestic violence (women’s shelters)
- Education and youth (Toys for Tots, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Fishing School makeover, engineering awareness)
- Emergency relief (post-disaster relief funds, blood drives)
- Arts (local programs)
- Environmental clean-up and stewardship (community clean-up days)
