Leadership at Girard

Andrew Marusich has also spent nearly his entire career with Girard Engineering. He is a seasoned electrical engineer with 25 years of experience. Andrew graduated from Penn State with a degree in Architectural Engineering.

Dave Ullmann has more than 30 years of experience, and has played a vital role in Girard’s success for most of his career. He is a Duke University graduate with a degree in electrical engineering, and also holds an MBA from George Washington University.

Kirt Meyer joined Girard Engineering in 1992 and has over 25 years of experience in the management and design of HVAC and mechanical systems. As the Mechanical Department Head, Kirt has worked on and overseen various types of projects including large-scale new construction of offices, complex tenant work, mixed-use complexes, government and institutional buildings as well as intricate renovation and restoration initiatives. He is a member of the ASHRAE and ASPE and has worked extensively throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area. Kirt graduated from Union College in 1988 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

Doug Menchhofer joined Girard Engineering in 1983. He has been an influential leader through the firm's evolution, while managing numerous notable projects during the course of his career. Before assuming the role of President, Doug spent over 7 years directing the mechanical and plumbing departments.  Earning a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee in 1977, he has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 1989.

Larry Beam has been with Girard Engineering for most of his career, and was named president in 2006. With more than 30 years of experience, he is among the Mid-Atlantic region’s most accomplished design professionals. Larry holds a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State.

Richard Girard founded Girard Engineering in 1978, and steadily grew the company into one of the region’s most trusted mechanical/electrical/plumbing firms. His examples of leadership and professionalism continue to guide and inspire Girard Engineering today. Richard graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Steve Millnick is a project manager and mechanical engineer with more than 25 years of experience. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and an active member of ASHRAE.

Susan Sweda joined Girard Engineering in 1986 and is one of the firm’s most accomplished project managers. She has managed major base building and tenant projects throughout the metropolitan area.
